Frequently Ask Questions

Registered Holistic Nutritionists (R.H.N.) are professionals trained in natural nutrition and complementary therapies, whose principal function is to educate individuals and groups about the benefits and health impact of optimal nutrition. Through my training at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, I’m qualified to work with clients to identify and help correct the nutritional imbalances and to design personalized protocols and lifestyle programs that support good health. My goal as an R.H.N. is to help you make the best possible choices to meet your performance or health needs.
Much of the success depends on you. Results may take time, depending on your individual issues. Follow the recommendations to the best of your ability, and at your own pace. Some people make significant changes right away, others incorporate changes more slowly. Sticking with the program, however, is the key to getting the most out of it.
During the intake process we discuss your dietary needs, main health concerns, and specific questions you may have. I evaluate your nutrition status and make the initial recommendations. You leave with useful recommendations on where to focus for the next few weeks as well as educational materials.
We work together to develop goals and find ways that work for you to achieve them incorporating a variety of methods. I use individualized diet plans, educational materials, menu planning, recipes, cooking tips, in home personal cooking demos, supplement consulting, antioxidant testing, allergy and hormone testing , heavy metal analysis as well as guided grocery store tours and pantry evaluations to help you achieve your health and nutritional goals. Weekly or biweekly phone consults are built into the program. I encourage my clients to bring their food logs to follow-up meetings. Reviewing your food logs is the best way for us to evaluate your progress.
Various group health insurance providers cover Registered or Certified Nutritionists under extended or wellness benefit plans. Some employers offer alternative health benefits as an add-on option to their packages. Contact your employer or insurance provider for more information. Receipts are provided.
